13TH ANNUAL BLUEGRASS BASH

/, NEWS/13TH ANNUAL BLUEGRASS BASH

13th Annual Bluegrass Bash

This year’s Bash was the biggest ever – over 400 people enjoyed the event, nearly tripling attendance numbers from previous years!

Fun at the Farmse6a9469

Guests enjoyed top-tapping music from Queen’s Bluegrass, a delicious Hempler’s hot dog dinner with handmade sides, frosty Mallard Ice Cream, all-ages games & activities, and a beautifully curated silent auction. The raffle jars were bursting with ticket entries, with visitors angling for prizes like a week of day camp, homemade pies, Gala tickets and a brewery tour, while a number of folks became horse sponsors after a moving demonstration of our experiential equine work.

Brightly colored faces scurried around the barnyard after a stop at the face-painting booth, the bunny pen welcomed a steady stream of visitors eager to cuddle something soft, and the goats delighted guests with funny antics and mischievous nibbles.

The hay alley was packed with curious children excited to meet the horses, while the barn hosted games of Bingo and Boot Bounce! Our MC lead rousing games of Tug-o-War in the round pen, followed by gunny sack and noodle horse races that inspired fierce competition.

Support for ANTse6a9764

New this year, dinner was by donation, and along with raffle ticket and silent auction sales will support ANT’s work with youth & veterans. Our programs are largely community-funded, and we rely on the generous support of our friends to provide funding for the nearly 90% of our families who require scholarships to attend.

We’re pleased to say that the Bluegrass Bash netted over $4,000 for Animals as Natural Therapy, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our guests!

A Great Team se6a0119

We are immensely grateful to the many volunteers who helped make this event possible, donating their time to run games, serve food, direct parking, procure auction items, sell raffle tickets, and more. ANT’s work would not be possible without the generosity of our community, and we are so thankful to those who contribute to our mission by giving their service to our events!

We are also deeply appreciative of the many business sponsors who supported the Bash, including:

Bank of the Pacific / Bellingham Appliance Repair / Builders Alliance / Community Food Co-Op / EQUUS Foundation / Hempler’s Foods / Math ‘n’ Stuff / Portal Way Farm & Garden / Rice Insurance / Walton Beverage / Whatcom Community Foundation / Windermere Real Estate

All business sponsors in our Horsin’ Around campaign receive a wooden horse painted with their logo, mounted along Hannegan Road for maximum exposure! Keep an eye out for these painted beauties when you head to the NW Washington Fair!

Couldn’t make it? Sorry we missed you! Please consider making a donation to support our youth & veterans. All amounts make a difference, and help us continue our mission to transform our community, one life at a time. Thank You!
