Newsletters
Each quarter, ANT produces a newsletter, Tails from Windy Acres, that we send out to close to 3,000 subscribers (paper and copy services generously donated by OfficeMax of Bellingham). Here on our Web site, we archive recent issues for anyone to access. Each newsletter offers a glimpse into ANT's programs and events from the perspective of different staff members, volunteers, program participants, and donors. To read archived copies, please visit our Newsletters page.

Personal Stories
At Animals as Natural Therapy, we are lucky to have a community of participants, volunteers, and donors who prize the healing and changes that take place on our farm. To see a video about ANT and hear directly from some of the people whose lives we've impacted, please visit the ANT video page.

ANT community members frequently write to us about their experiences in e-mails, letters, and journal entries. Nearly all of these writings contain the same message: Animals as Natural Therapy has touched their lives in important ways. But don't take our word for it! Here's what some of our volunteers and participants have had to say over the years:
Some of ANT's many fabulous volunteers!
Tales from Windy Acres
“I’m 89 years old, and I don’t have a lot of reasons to live, but I love coming to talk to these kids every week. I never expected to have a 15-year old friend at this age.”
~Participant in ANT's Intergenerational Program

"The farm held a sense of peace and tranquility that I hadn’t felt in a long time and so desperately longed for. ANT became the one thing I could look forward to and I found myself doing everything to maintain my level at Martin Center so I could attend every Thursday. This meant no cutting [self-injury]."

"Being a part of ANT has shaped my soul in ways that I cannot fully understand... [ANT] has provided me with tremendous faith in the good of humanity and the impact that a few can have on many."
~Volunteer
"I have been volunteering for a little over a year now. It has been an honor to be able to witness and participate in the amazing life-changing work that takes place at ANT on a weekly basis. I am always impressed by the dedication and compassion of the staff and volunteers of ANT."

“My mother was in a car accident. I didn’t know yet how she was doing. I told my horse. He lowered his head, and I felt his love and support as I cried.”
~Particpant

“I had been self-mutilating myself. I promised my horse I would never do it again, and it’s been over 6 months, and I haven’t. Even though I am out of the program I come back to let my horse know that I am not doing it again.”
